Creamy Kid Sized Smoothies / #SundaySupper

Do you sometimes have a difficult time convincing your kids or grand kids to eat their veggies? These 3 Creamy Kid Sized Smoothies might be able to help. All 3 different smoothies have one common denominator~frozen spinach! But all three have distinctly different tastes! These smoothies are so easy to make. Just put the ingredients in the blender and push "blend".
Don't think that these smoothies are just for the kids! Adults love them too! I know I can always use some extra veggies!

Creamy Kid Sized Smoothies
(printable recipe at end of post)

Cherry Banana Smoothie
1 cup Milk
1/4 cup Orange Juice
1cup pitted Cherries (approx. 25)
1/2 Fresh Orange
1 cup frozen Peaches
1 peeled fresh Banana
1/4 cup frozen Spinach

Berry Blast Smoothie
1 cup Diet Berry Blend V8 Splash Juice
1 cup Crushed Ice
8 ounce fresh Strawberries

1/4 cup frozen Spinach

Pineapple Mango Smoothie
1 cup Orange Juice
1 cup frozen Pineapple Chunks
3/4 cup frozen Mango Chunks
1 peeled fresh Banana

To make the Cherry Banana Smoothie make sure you pit the cherries, and cut the bananas into chunks. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

Chocolate Cherry Crescents / #15 Minute Friday

It is 15 Minute Friday, and today we have some Chocolate Cherry Crescents to share. Made with fresh cherries and semi sweet chocolate, these are sure to become a favorite treat!
 Chocolate Cherry Crescents
(makes 8 crescents)
(printable recipe at end of post)
1 package regular Crescent Rolls
1 cup fresh Cherries
1/4 cup semi sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Confectioners Sugar
1 tablespoon Milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Pit cherries and then chop the cherries in to quarters.
Unwrap the crescents and cut apart from each other. Add 1 tablespoon cherries across the bottom section of the crescent. Add a small amount of chocolate, like above, depending on your preference for chocolate.
Turn in both sides, and roll the crescent. All sides should be closed so nothing can leak out. Place crescents on baking sheet, bake according to package directions.
While crescents are baking, make glaze by adding milk to confectioners sugar. You can also use water instead of the milk.
Mix together until glaze is smooth.
Remove crescents from oven, let them cool. Drizzle with glaze.
Let glaze set up.

I tried to keep this to 15 minutes, but it may go over a little. You could use canned cherries and it would be quicker.

Thank you for dropping by today! Enjoy!

Creamsicle Doughnuts / #TasteCreations

This month we are all about Doughnuts at #TasteCreations, so I made some Creamsicle Doughnuts I would love to share with you! Would you do just about anything for a doughnut? I think a lot of people would! I lived in Las Vegas when the first Krispy Kreme opened in the city. Everyone was excited! The television news talked about it, it was in all the papers, and the lines were out the door everyday for at least a week. It seemed everyone had a story about waiting in line for the delectable doughnut! It was craziness, and everyone was talking doughnuts! Fun and a little nutty at the same time!
Well, these doughnuts are very tasty and easy to make, but I'm not sure they will get that much press! But, then again, you won't have to wait in line to get them! Even though they are worth it!
Creamsicle Doughnuts

(makes 15-17 doughnuts)
(printable recipe at end of blog)
 2 cups Cake Flour
3/4 cup Sugar
2 teaspoon Baking Powder
3/4 cup Buttermilk
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoon Butter, melted
1 teaspoon Orange Extract
2 teaspoon Orange Zest
1/8 cup fresh squeezed Orange Juice from zested Orange
Orange Sprinkles

Glaze
2 cups Powdered Sugar
4-5 tablespoon Light Whipping Cream

Preheat oven to 350° F

Place the cake flour, sugar and baking powder in a large mixing bowl. Add the buttermilk, eggs, and butter. Mix together. Add the extract, zest and juice. Mix together.
Grease a doughnut pan.Fill each doughnut cavity with batter, about 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 1/2 -7 minutes. Remove from oven. Take a toothpick around the edges of the pan to loosen the doughnut a little. Let cool for 2 minutes, then remove from pan and cool.
Place all doughnut on a baking sheet, or something similar. This is where they will be iced.
Make the glaze by mixing together the powdered sugar and cream. Add the cream a tablespoon at a time until the glaze is thick but pourable.
Pour the glaze into a small bowl. Drop each doughnut onto the glaze, then lift off, let drip a little, and set back on tray.
Decorate doughnuts with orange sprinkles or jimmies, and enjoy!
