Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats old-fashioned preferred
  • 2 cups fresh apples firm and crisp, such as Fuji or Honeycrisp, peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cups milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted, for greasing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for topping and extra sweetness

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with melted butter to prevent sticking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Add the chopped apples, vanilla extract, honey, and milk to the dry mixture. Whisk everything together until the oats are fully coated and the mixture is well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula or back of a spoon.
  • Sprinkle the top evenly with brown sugar for a crunchy, caramelized crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the mixture is bubbling around the edges.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly—this helps the texture set and makes slicing easier.
  • Serve warm, optionally drizzled with additional honey or a dollop of yogurt for extra richness.
