Equipment

  • Champagne flute
  • Shaker
  • Fine strainer
  • Lemon zester

Ingredients

  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur or elderflower syrup for less alcohol
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice about half a lemon
  • 1 drop rose water use sparingly
  • 3 oz chilled champagne well chilled to keep bubbles lively

Instructions

  • Chill your champagne flute in the freezer for about 10 minutes to keep your drink crisp and bubbly.
  • Pour the elderflower liqueur into a shaker, followed by the fresh lemon juice and a tiny drop of rose water. This combo creates a fragrant, floral base.
  • Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker, then gently shake for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted, feeling cold and slightly frosty on the outside of the shaker.
  • Place a fine strainer over your chilled champagne flute and strain the mixture into it, catching any pulp or bits for a smooth pour.
  • Slowly top off the strained mixture with the cold, bubbly champagne, allowing the drink to fizz and rise beautifully in the glass.
  • Use a lemon zester to create a twist of lemon peel, then gently twist it over the glass to release the aromatic oils, and garnish your drink with the lemon twist or an edible flower for a stunning finish.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are well chilled before mixing. Adjust the amount of elderflower or lemon to taste, and use fresh garnishes for the best visual impact.
