Instructions

  • Pour the apple juice into a large saucepan and add the cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and cloves.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing the flavors to infuse without boiling vigorously.
  • Stir occasionally and let the cider simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes, until fragrant and steaming.
  • If using additional spices, add them during this simmering stage to develop a richer, more complex aroma.
    4 cups apple juice
  • Once the cider has infused and smells warmly spicy, remove from heat and using a slotted spoon, fish out the cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and cloves.
  • Taste the cider and stir in a touch of honey or maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter.
  • Pour the hot, spiced cider into mugs, allowing the steam and aromas to escape with each pour.
  • Garnish with additional citrus slices or a cinnamon stick if desired for presentation and extra fragrance.

Notes

Adjust spices to taste for a personalized warm-up. Be cautious not to overboil to maintain maximum aroma and flavor.
