  • 2 oz 60 ml whiskey (bourbon or Scotch)
  • 1 tablespoon 15 ml honey
  • 1/2 oz 15 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup 240 ml hot water
  • Optional: cinnamon stick cloves, or star anise for garnish
  • Optional: lemon twist for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a kettle or saucepan, heat the water until it reaches a simmer. Alternatively, you can heat the water in a microwave-safe container in the microwave.
  • In a heatproof glass or mug, add the whiskey, honey, and fresh lemon juice.
  • Pour the hot water into the glass or mug, stirring gently to dissolve the honey and combine the ingredients.
  • Optionally, garnish the Hot Toddy with a cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, or a lemon twist for added flavor and visual appeal.
  • Serve the Hot Toddy immediately while it's still hot, and enjoy its soothing warmth and comforting flavors.
