- ½ cup 1 stick butter (for browning)
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup M&M's or any type you prefer
- ½ cup chocolate chips milk chocolate recommended
- Flaked salt for topping, optional
Brown the butter in a medium saucepan until golden brown with a nutty aroma. Let it cool.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper and cooking spray.
Whisk together browned butter and brown sugar. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla.
Stir in cornstarch, salt, and flour. Gently fold in M&M’s and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the pan, smoothing with a spatula. Top with extra M&M’s and flaked salt.
Bake for 20-23 minutes until edges are golden. Let cool before serving.
