Ingredients
  

  • 10 oz milk chocolate choppe
  • 45 saltine crackers
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup organic cane sugar can substitute with granulated sugar  

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a large baking sheet (about 12" x 18") with parchment paper.

  • Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sugar together, stirring constantly until the mixture is fully melted and begins to bubble.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat, and stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the saltines on the baking sheet, using a spatula to spread it out and ensure all crackers are coated.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the sugar mixture caramelizes and turns golden brown.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot crackers.
  • Let them sit for 1-2 minutes to soften.
  • Using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon, gently spread the melted chocolate over the crackers until they are evenly coated.
  • Allow the crackers to cool at room temperature, then transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator for about an hour to let the chocolate set completely.
