Ingredients
  

  • 2 Large egg whites, beaten
  • 2 ¼ cups Melted butter, divided
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract 
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • ½ pint Sour cream
  • 2 ½ lb Ground walnuts
  • 7 cups All-purpose flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking trays with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  • Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast activates and forms a creamy foam.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of melted butter, 3 eggs, and salt until well mixed.
  • Incorporate the sour cream.
  • Add the flour and the yeast mixture, mixing and kneading until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 7 equal portions.
  • In another large bowl, combine the remaining 2 cups of sugar with 1 1/4 cups of melted butter, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  • Mix in the walnuts until they are evenly coated, then add the cinnamon and vanilla.
  • Divide this filling into 7 equal parts.
  • Roll out each piece of dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg whites.
  • Evenly spread the filling on each rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Lightly brush the borders with egg whites, then roll each rectangle lengthwise like a jelly roll.
  • Place each roll, seam-side down, on the prepared baking trays and brush the tops with more egg whites.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until they are lightly browned.
  • Allow them to cool completely before slicing and serving.
