Peach Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup sugar or honey
- 4 ripe peaches sliced
Peach Lemonade:
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 5–6 lemons
- 4 cups cold water
- Peach simple syrup from above
- Ice cubes for serving
- Optional: lemon slices peach slices, or fresh mint for garnish
Make the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar (or honey), and sliced peaches. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer for 10–12 minutes, until peaches are soft and fragrant.
Strain the Syrup: Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing gently to extract the syrup. Discard solids or save for other uses.
Juice the Lemons: While the syrup cools, juice the lemons to yield about 1 cup of fresh juice.
Combine Lemonade: In a large pitcher, mix lemon juice, cold water, and peach syrup. Stir well to combine.
Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour lemonade over, and garnish with lemon or peach slices and a sprig of mint if desired.
Optional Variations: For a sparkling version, replace 1–2 cups of water with sparkling water.
- Sweetness Adjustments: Taste and adjust the amount of peach syrup for your preferred sweetness.
- Peach Substitutes: Frozen peaches work well if fresh ones aren’t in season.
- Make Ahead: Peach syrup can be made up to 5 days in advance and stored in the fridge. Lemonade keeps in the fridge for 3–5 days.
- Fun Variations: Turn into a slushy by blending with ice, or freeze in popsicle molds for refreshing treats.
