Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking Dish
  • Pastry cutter or fork
  • Peeler
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 5 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar for the filling
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for the crumble topping
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats for texture and crunch
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for the crumble

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss them in a mixing bowl with granulated sugar and finely chopped rosemary to coat evenly.
  • Spread the seasoned apple slices evenly into a baking dish, creating a thick, colorful layer.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, rolled oats, and brown sugar. Add the cold, diced butter and use a pastry cutter or fork to blend everything until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apple slices, covering them completely to form a generous topping.
  • Place the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  • Once baked, remove the crumble from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for contrast.
