Gouda Grilled Cheese

This grilled cheese sandwich combines creamy Monterey Jack and smoky Gouda cheeses melted between slices of crispy, buttery bread for a rich and satisfying treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise or use softened butter
  • 2 slices of white crusty bakery bread hand-sliced medium-thick, sourdough, or Italian bread
  • 2 Tbsp. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 oz. smoked Gouda cheese sliced

Instructions
 

  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Flip and spread cream cheese on both slices.

  • On one slice, add shredded Monterey Jack and sliced Gouda. Top with the other slice of bread, cream cheese side down.

  • Heat skillet over medium-low heat. Place sandwich in the skillet.

  • Cook for 3-4 minutes until the underside is toasted and the cheese starts melting. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the other side is toasted and cheese is fully melted.

  • Transfer to a cutting board and cut diagonally.
