About Me

Hey there! I’m Noah Baker, the California-born creator behind FreshmanCook.com – a food blog that’s all about making delicious, approachable cooking feel like a totally achievable adventure.

My culinary journey didn’t start in a fancy cooking school or with generations of family recipes. It began in a cramped apartment kitchen, armed with nothing but curiosity, a beat-up cutting board, and an endless appetite for trying new things. As a graphic designer by training, I’ve always been drawn to the art of creation – whether that’s designing a sleek website or crafting a meal that looks as incredible as it tastes.

Freshman isn’t just a food blog. It’s a space where cooking feels democratic and exciting. I believe that great food doesn’t require professional training or expensive ingredients. It’s about passion, creativity, and a willingness to experiment. My recipes are designed to be adaptable, forgiving, and most importantly, fun.

My cooking style is a reflection of my own journey – a mix of California’s fresh, vibrant food culture, design-driven aesthetics, and a deep love for making complex flavors feel totally approachable. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned home cook, there’s something here for you.

When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me exploring farmers markets, testing new photography techniques, or hanging out with my rescue dog, Basil – who, between you and me, is an excellent taste tester.

Welcome to TheFreshmanCook. Let’s cook something amazing together.
