How Is A Triffle Made?

red velvet trifle

Trifle is a layered English dessert made of sponge cake soaked in sherry or fortified wine, layered with fruit (fresh or jelly), custard, and whipped cream, all served in a glass dish.

Does A Trifle Get Soggy Overnight?

Pound cake can handle some moisture, so a trifle won’t get soggy overnight. However, itā€™s best to serve within 24 hours of assembling, as the cake will soften after a few days in the fridge.

How To Perfectly Layer A Trifle?

To assemble a trifle, start by layering the bottom of a dish with a creamy element. Add a layer of cookie or cake, followed by fruit and syrup. Repeat these layers until the dish is full, ending with a layer of cream.
