14 Days of Valentines!
Today starts “14 Days of Valentines” at The Freshman Cook! Every day, up to and including Valentine’s Day, we will be posting a special Valentine’s Day meal, treat, or whatever! It just so happens that on Day 1, it’s also time for another Club Baked and today we baked up some delicious cookies, called Speculaas! They are wonderful, spiced cookies that are usually cut into a rectangle or oblong shape. But I thought they would be pretty as hearts!

I really liked these cookies. It was an easy recipe, and the spice flavors were intense, and so good!
As we bake our way through the Baked Explorations book, written by Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito, I think this is one of the better recipes.
